Climb Against the Odds was a landmark film that transformed my career from entertainment media to cause-related films. 26 million people saw this film on ABC Network and on PBS and it transformed the conversation around breast cancer. At the time of its release, in 1999, Breast Cancer was the second largest killer of women in the world and there was next to no research funding. The fight is far from over to prevent breast cancer but there is hardly a place one can go where there isn't a walk or run to support continued research.

Crude Impact

Burning the Future: Coal in America (2008) was among the first films to blow the whistle on the devastating practice of mountain top removal mining in West Virginia. More than six major films were later produced around this same story often with the same characters. Oil On Ice

Oil On Ice was one of the first films of the Internet age that showed what is possible with media when applied to create political awareness directed towards Congress. The film was provided to every member of the Senate and House prior to what became three votes to drill in the Arctic from 2005-2007 Each time constituents called and mailed their representatives demanding that the Arctic Wildlife Refuge not be drilled for oil and that we protect the largest Caribou herd in North America. Each congressional vote was defeated.
